NEHA 2021 Annual Educational Conference (AEC) & Exhibition Three-Part Virtual Series
Environmental health professionals have been on the front line of an unprecedented global pandemic. COVID-19 brought with it changes in our roles and increases in our responsibilities. Together we are working for a safer and healthier tomorrow.
NEHA has continued to closely monitor developments of the COVID-19 pandemic since its inception earlier this year. After careful deliberation, the NEHA Board of Directors has made the difficult but necessary decision to transition the face-to-face 85th Annual Educational Conference (AEC) & Exhibition scheduled for July 12-15, 2021 in Spokane, Washington, to a three-part virtual series.
NEHA's Digital Defense: Education for a Safer World Virtual Conference & Exhibition
NEHA's Digital Defense: Education for a Safer World Virtual Conference & Exhibition is a highly informative forum that brought together over 2,000 environmental public health professionals and food and water safety specialists to discuss the impact of COVID-19 and emerging issues and solutions. The virtual conference was held on August 18 and 19, 2020. The virtual conference environment included auditorium presentations, poster sessions, a networking lounge, and exhibitor booths and resources. NEHA thanks all of the attendees, presenters, and exhibitors who participated in NEHA's Digital Defense: Education for a Safer World Virtual Conference & Exhibition. We also thank FDA for its support of this virtual conference.
If you were not able to attend or missed a few sessions of interest, you can still view NEHA's Digital Defense on-demand. If you are already registered, you just need to log in to access the content. If not, you will need to register. The free, on-demand offering includes access to the recorded Food Safety and Water educational sessions and the Exhibition and Poster Halls. You can also scroll through and read the comments, questions, and answers recorded in the session and networking chat rooms. The on-demand virtual conference will be available until February 28, 2021.

Legionella Conference Overview
NSF Health Sciences, an NSF International company, and the National Environmental Health Association will bring together professionals from a wide variety of industries, including healthcare, to discuss the growing concern of Legionella outbreaks at the third annual Legionella Conference. The conference will be held virtually in August 2021.
The theme for the next Legionella Conference, Prevention of Disease and Injury From Waterborne Pathogens in Health Care, centers on how hospitals, water utilities, health departments, industry, and regulators can work together to identify best practices for prevention of disease in hospitals, long-term care centers, and skilled nursing homes. Join the conversation on how we can work toward safer health care facilities.
Legionella Conference Special Session: Prevention of Disease and Injury from Waterborne Pathogens During an Emergent Health Crisis
March 9–10, 2021
In response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, NSF and NEHA’s Legionella Conference organizers have added a virtual Special Session to take place on March 9–10, 2021. This 2-day virtual session will center on how industries such as healthcare, water utilities, manufacturing, cultural institutions, and hospitality, as well as health departments and regulators, can better respond to water-related challenges during a pandemic or major health crisis.
