PWN is hosting its third installment of the PWN Water Treatment Webinar Series. This webinar will focus on lead treatment in private wells. Lead commonly occurs in private well water due to corrosion of household plumbing or less frequently due to groundwater contamination. The webinar will discuss the occurrence and causes of lead in well water along with corrosion control, reverse osmosis, and other treatment strategies.
In this webinar, Bryan Swistock will share his insights on private well water treatment for lead. Swistock is a water resources extension specialist in the College of Agricultural Sciences, Department of Ecosystem Science and Management at Penn State University. He received a bachelor’s degree in environmental health from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in environmental pollution control from Penn State University. For the past 32 years he has conducted research, teaching, and extension programs on emerging water resources issues throughout Pennsylvania.
